Brian Bengelsdorf is an accomplished graphic designer, artist, and photographer. He currently is on staff at BowTie, Inc., where he's the Art Director for Dog Fancy, Dogs for Kids, and Wild Birds magazines. (Proving his unimpeachable fairness, he's held that position at Cat Fancy, too. )

Not a bad resume for someone whose last name translates to "Village of the Naughty Children!"

When he's not directing art or judging animal photo contests (he's presided over several besides ours, btw!), he enjoys hiking and triathlons. He and his three sons also enjoy adventure sports, especially surfing, snowboarding, and skating.

Brian has two dogs, two cats, one bearded dragon, and one very understanding wife.

Dr. Wayne Hunthausen is a veterinarian and pet behavior consultant (shrink) who has helped pet lovers and vets nationwide since 1982.

He serves on the board of two prominent industry journals and has co-authored and co-edited pet behavior books for both pet owners and veterinarians. He's a world-famous lecturer on pet behavior, and his video, Dogs, Cats, & Kids: Learning to be Safe with Animals, has won the Parent's Choice Award.

In his spare time (what spare time, we wonder?), Dr. Hunthausen enjoys photography, skiing, cycling, movies and traveling with his wife, Jan. They also enjoy hiking with their no doubt perfectly behaved dogs Ralphie, Beau, and Peugeot.

What are the odds our second judge would also have a name with fun origins? Hunthausen means "dog house" in German. No kidding!
