Meet Our Celebrity Judges!

We had us a bunch of fun working with our celebrity judges. Read their bios and imagine the hi-jinks!

Revilo (a.k.a. Oliver Christianson) is Hallmark's very own world-famous cartoonist.

Published in National Lampoon, Esquire, Parents, Good Housekeeping, and Cosmo, he's developed quite a following in the cartoon world. In fact, he won the prestigious Divisional Award for Greeting Cards at the 2001 Reuben Awards.

Revilo is the author of the best-selling Hallmark cartoon books Talk to the Tail 'Cause the Whiskers Ain't Listenin'!, Women of Substance, and Funny Business), and his laugh-out-loud writing and art have been featured on hundreds of cards during his 20+ years
of working here.

In previous lives, Revilo played bass in an R & B band, served as hospital corpsman in Viet Nam, and taught fashion illustration at an all girls' school.

Around Hallmark, it's quite a thrill to appear in one of Revilo's hand-drawn cartoons (though the truth hurts sometimes!).

Mary Scruggs knows funny when she sees it.

She'd better. She's the Head of Writing and Education Programs for The Second City Training Center in Chicago. (Yes, the same Second City which is the centerpiece of the
Your Funny*ness Grand Prize.)

Mary's mile-long list of humor writing credits includes The Fairy Trials, a series of plays to teach the public about the Cook County court system. She also wrote What Every Girl Should Know (produced by the Annoyance Theater) and Camp Nimrod for Girls (produced by Live Bait Theatre).

Her one-woman show, Missing Man, is the story of her participation in a ride across America with 300 motorcycle-riding Vietnam vets.
Mary has developed a sitcom, sold a script for Designing Women, and written jokes for Barry Manilow. (That last one is funny on many levels — don't get us started!)
